After the announcement of “JOHNNY’s World” musical starring the members of Hey! Say! JUMP, Johnny Kitagawa, the president of Johnny & Associates has announced another plan of producing and directing a movie depicting the journey of their duo, Kinki Kids.

The duo debuted in 1997 after appearing in various photoshoots and music shows as backdancers together. They were also listed in the 2002 edition of Guinness World Records for having the record of the most number of consecutive number-one singles since their debut single, making them the first musical act in Japan to be recognized by the Guinness World Records.

The movie, “YJGAF” will be starred by Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari and Ikuta Toma, who are known as among the most versatile actors of the agency. When asked about his role as Domoto Tsuyoshi, Ninomiya commented, “Although it’s a huge burden, playing the role of my respected senior is an honor to me. I hope I will be able to live up to people’s expectations.”

Other talents including Hikaru Genji, SMAP, Tackey & Tsubasa, and Kinki Kids themselves will be making appearances throughout the movie. The release date has yet to be announced.
